activities Of Wasuki Farmers Society

WASUKI has taken various activities like agriculture extension, sustainable agriculture and tribal agriculture with the help of line departments and research institutions. Society has promoted organic rice cultivation in 152 acres in Chekadi which is a remote and tribal village in the district. Now WASUKI is promoting organic vegetable cultivation of about 35 acres through individuals and groups at various places in the district with the help of Agriculture Department, Aptech, Kerala Agricultural Univeraity, University of Calicut etc. and started marketing of fresh vegetables in the district (Sulthan Bathery Taluk) through Haritha Kudubam which is a consortium of farmers under the society. Society has invested about Rs. 3.0 lakh as own fund for the promotion of organic vegetable production, as earthern checkdam construction, irrigation facilities, vegetable seedlings, supply of inputs etc. through farmers groups and the majority of the beneficiary farmers are tibal people. Society is organizing awareness program and demonstrations.

In kolampatta wasuki started an agricultural value addition centre investing around 5 Crore in its own land

In the agro processing center there are facilities to value add various wayanad based agricultural produce. And now marketing the value added products in the brand name “Wyndfeast” in various Malabar districts.

Also selling graded and packed GAP/Organic vegitables in the brand name Fresh Wayanad

Started extension activities of agro processing unit with help of CFTRI for value addition of major spices like ginger, pepper, cardamom and turmeric worth 50 lakh as gross investment by CFTRI.
